Announcements
Sealed bids in duplicate, addressed to the Director of Procurement, and marked "Bid for SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION IN BLOOMSBURY AVENUE, ERIE STREET AND LOCUST ROAD, CITY OF HAVRE DE GRACE, MARYLAND" will be received at the Office of Procurement, City Hall, 711 Pennington Avenue, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078, until 2:00 pm local time on September 11, 2009.
The work for which bids are invited consist of, but is not limited to, repairs and replacement of sanitary sewer pipes and manholes, construction of storm drain pipe and inlets and connection to existing storm drain system, disconnecting roof drains from sewer house connections, and other miscellaneous and appurtenant work.
Bidding Documents and the City's bidding procedures may be examined at City Hall, 711 Pennington Avenue, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Copies of the Plans and Project Manual may be obtained starting Monday, August 24, 2009, at the above location upon payment of $35.00 (non-refundable) per set made payable to Transviron, Inc. Contract Documents will be mailed to those requesting this service by written request for an additional $5.00.

BIDDERS ON THIS WORK WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE PRESIDENT'S EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 11246. THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BIDDERS AND CONTRACTORS UNDER THIS ORDER ARE EXPLAINED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS.
NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT FOR CERTIFICATION OF NONSEGREGATED FACILITIES
Bidders and Offerors are cautioned as follows: By signing this Bid or Offer, the Bidder or Offeror will be deemed to have signed and agreed to the provision of the "Certification of Nonsegregated Facilities" in this solicitation. The certification provides that the Bidder of Offeror does not maintain or provide for his employees facilities which are segregated on a basis of race, creed, color, or national origin, whether such facilities are segregated by directive or on a de facto basis. The certification also provides that he will not maintain such segregated facilities. Failure of a Bidder of Offeror to agree to the Certification of Nonsegregated Facilities will render his Bid non-responsive to the terms of solicitation involving awards of contracts exceeding $10,000 which are not exempt from the provision of the Equal Opportunity clause.
The City reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, or to calculate the bid information in a manner that benefits the City of Havre de Grace.
